Carolina Morace goes after dismal UEFA finals by Italy

After the poor performance by the Italian team at the European Finals in England in June, the Italian Football Federation has appointed Pietro Ghedin as new coach of the National Team.

The new man is 52-year-old, and has plenty of experience, after acting as assistant to Cesare Maldini, Dino Zoff and Giovanni Trapattoni for the 'azzurri' mens team. He has also been head coach of Malta and played as a defender forFiorentina and Lazio.

Italy start their campaign to reach the World Cup Finals of 2007
on 24th September 2005, when they play Ukraine. Norway are also in their group.
