Germany Prinz, 63rd.
Match
Germany controlled most of the first half with its skilful passing game
against a young physical Norwegian team that depended on a long ball coupled
with speed.
Norway got back into the game late in the first half during the heavy
rain which took away from the German’s superior skill and ball handling,
and helped even up the match for a Norwegian squad that depended a lot
on the lucky bounce of the ball from their continuous long high ball kicking.
Germany made use of the passes they made, every time they kicked the ball.
Germany took complete control of the match in the second half playing
controlled attacking soccer against a poorly organized Norwegian team
Germany Head Coach Theune-Meyer
must have had a brief moment of remembering the1995 FIFA finals in Stockholm
when three inches of water on the pitch took away their skill advantage
against Norway, in a match they shoould have won.
Post game comment
Norway have adopted the playing style of Canada, Germany has always played
a similar game to the USA.
