A new base for Scottish women's football

Andy Mitchell

A major step forward for women's football in Scotland will be taken this week, as the SFA launches the Scottish Girls' & Women's Football Centre at the West Lothian Courier Stadium in Livingston.

Livingston will host all Scotland women's internationals from now on, and act as a training centre for girls' and women's football, giving a considerable boost to the game in Scotland.

The official opening of the Centre by Dominic Keane, Chairman of Livingston FC, and a presentation on its aims by Sheila Begbie MBE, the SFA's Assistant Director for Women's Football will take place on Thursday 10 May 2001, at 5.45 pm.

The opening will be followed by the women's international challenge match, Scotland v The Netherlands, which kicks off at 7.00 pm.
