December 12, 2004 Tom Sermanni rehired as Australia National team coach Sermanni returns as Head Coach of the National Team, and will direct the Australian Institute of Sport women's soccer program. He was the coach of the Australian National Team from 1994 to 1997, and afterwards he coached the San Jose CyberRays and the New York Power in WUSA. He has also been director of soccer development in the Malaysian state of Sarawak.
