July 9, 2003 Australia will play Japan & South Korea in World Cup preparations The Australia National Team (the Qantas Matildas), will go to Sendai City, Japan to play in the 3 Nations International Soccer tournament against Japan and South Korea, from July 22 to 27, 2003. Tournament Schedule July 22, 2003 South Korea v Japan July 25, 2003 Australia v South Korea July 27, 2003 Japan v Australia It will be the first international match for the Qantas Matildas since qualifying for the FIFA World Cup as winners of the Oceania Qualifying Tournament in April. The tour will also be the first match for the 20-member 2003 World Cup team which will be announced within a week .
