August 28, 2003 Nine Australian National Team members come down with a gastric infection on arrival in Jinan, China After arriving in Jinan late Monday night, a total of nine players yesterday or last night came down with gastric illness. It occurred in their last 24 hours and quite a number kept their doctor up most of the night and only ten of the squad have been spared before the first match with China. Rookie goalkeeper Amy Beattie is out and co-vice captain Joanne Peters and Rhian Davies are the next worst affected.
