February 13, 2002   Australian Institute of Sport Women's Soccer Program names twenty Scholarship athletes for June 2002   Matildas Head Coach Adrian Santrac heads the AIS Women's Soccer program in Canberra, now a camps-based program.   It is the first time for three players Olivia Hohnke, Tal Karp, and Sue Read. Yhey and four other players have not played under Coach Santrac before. Rhian Davies, Zoe Nolan, and Gill Thomson who made their international debut in last month's Australia Cup against South Korea have all earned scholarships as well.   Nine of the Sydney 2000 Olympians are still part of the plans in the quest for representation at the 2003 World Cup and Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Two former AIS scholarship holders, Natalie Thomas who played for the Matildas in the 1999 Australia Cup, and Joanne Peters returning to the international scene after a two year break, make a comeback.   The offer of scholarships has been restricted to Australian-based athletes. On that basis, previous AIS Scholarship holders Dianne Alagich (USA), Sharon Black (Denmark), Lisa Casagrande (USA), Sarah Cooper (USA), Alison Forman (Denmark), and Angela Iannotta (Italy) have not been considered on this occasion.   The AIS Scholarship group next attends a training camp at the AIS in March leading up to a proposed tour of Europe in early April.
