11th round results of Damallsvenskan, Sweden´s premier league

By Thorsten Frennstedt

Kristianstad/Wä 0 Kopparbergs/Landvetter 3 (0-2)
Marit Björstedt (58), Ulrika Björn (66, 88).
K/W was and still is in bad need of points. Head choach Anders Niklasson had moved key player Nilla Fischer to the back line and changed to 3-5-2 formation. K/L had two shots wide in the first half. Nilla Fischer gave Maria Wanstadius a pefectly weighted ball in front of K/L´s second keeper Camilla Samuelsson who cleared.
The guests´ offense seemed to had gone into hibernation when Marit Björstedt easily made it 0-1. Ulrika Björn´s two goal blasts were nifty. Maria Nilsson rocked the ball of the underside of the K/L crossbar one minute before time. It was the home side's only chance in the second half.

Mallbacken 1 Bälinge 3 (1-3)
Bälinge Anna Eskhult (2, 7), 0-3 Maria Säfström (27),
Mallbacken Jenny Monsén (29).
Bälinge shocked the home side. This defeat was only the second on home soil for Mallbacken. The first was by champion Umeå. Bälinge is struggling to avoid relegation.
"I can only regret that we were not allowed to replay the first 15th minutes of the match, for I think the rest had looked otherwise." Mallbacken´s head coach Janne Jansson declared.
However Bälinge played well. The two sisters Sara and Lina Call were very consistent. Yolanda Odenyo anchored the backline and Therese Sandström added spark to the offense.

Öster 0 Malmö FF 2 (0-0)
Therese Lundin (52), Malin Andersson (89).
Öster kept the same defense from their 1-1-match in Umeå. First half became the best one in front of the home crowd. Former Öster-player Therese Lundin wiggled free and shot the insurance goal from a steep angle. Malin Andersson drilled her free kick for 2-0 in the last minute. Malmö head coach Lena Videkull was content with the small win.
"It was a hard task to pound away at the Öster defense. I have to respect their way of playing when in the bottom of the league."

Djurgården 2 Hammarby 1 (2-0)
Djurgården 2 Elin Flyborg (18), Sara Johansson (27)
Hammarby Cecilia Rongedahl (89)
Djurgården was the most prolific team in this Stockholm derby. Hammarby stayed optimistic during the entire game and was awarded a free kick in the last minute when Cecilia Rongedahl slipped her shot into the Djurgården goal. It was the game of Djurgården´s two national team players Elin Flyborg (awarded the MVP prize of the match) and Sara Johansson. Both their goals were similar- from crosses.

HIF Alingså 1 Älvsjö 3 (1-2)
HIF Alingså Camilla Ackerfors (22)
Älvsjö Victoria Svensson (29, 45, 80)

Älvsjö misses their national team key defender Jane Törnqvist who received a bad knee injury during the Eurofinals. It seemed that HIF Alingsås could take advantage of this impairment, and Camilla Ackerfors scored her first league goal for her new club. Luckily for Älvsjö Victoria Svensson, a forward of the national team, was not missing. She scored her second hat-trick of the year, thus keeping Älvsjö leading the league. HIF Alingsås seems to have gained experience during the first Allsvenskan season and may threaten other teams except the very best ones to save their future.

Sunnanå 0 Umeå 7 (0-5)
Therese Kapstad (20, 43), Hanna Ljungberg (35, 51), Anna Sjöström (23), Hanna Marklund (25, 47)
What a pounding for the home side, three goals down in 5 minutes! Four goals were made by former Sunnanå players, Hanna Ljungberg and Hanna Marklund. It was the first time that Umeå, though Swedish Champions, have won an away league match against Sunnanå.
Missing Umeå´s national team players Tina Nordlund and Malin Moström among the scorers? The were midfielders as usual but after many matches during the summer and very much running they might have lost their shape a little.
