9th round results of Damallsvenskan, Sweden´s
premier league
By Thorsten Frennstedt
Öster 1
Älvsjö 10 (0-5)
Ö: Linda Alrikzon 1-8 (71)
Ä: Katarina Karlsson (10), Jenny Syrén (14), Jane Törnqvist
(22, 44) Victoria Svensson (41, 64 , 77) Jessica Thorn (53,74) Ann-Marie
Norlin (57)
Only once last year did a team score ten goals, and Älvsjö was
the one. Öster and Älvsjö are said to have the worst pitches
in the Allsvenskan. Älvsjö claims after the big win that Öster
has a better arena. Not much to cheer their hosts up. In next round Öster
plays Umeå away. It could end very badly for Öster.
HIF Alingsås
(P) 2 Bälinge 2 (1-1)
H: Martina Psag (3, 87)
B: Own goal, Maria Säfström (89)
Both teams needed every point. Bälinge coach Leif Widén claimed
that his team had played its worst game. Thanks to keeper Maja Åström
HIF Alingsås was not ahead with more than 1-0 before Bälinge
equalized on an own goal just before half time. Then in second half Bälinge
had some good chances but Martina Psag again fooled the Bälinge defence.
In the very last minute Maria Säfström made it 2-2 with a nice
header, a result that did not satisfy anyone.
Djurgården
0 Umeå 3 (0-3)
Anna Sjöström
(10), Malin Moström (11), Tina Nordlund (18).
It was supposed
to be an even game. All Umeå´s players, the main part of Sweden´s
national team, however were more competitive and decisive. Three attempts
ended hitting the cross bar of Djurgården´s goal. Hanna Ljungberg
entered the match after 67 minutes. Again Malin Moström showed peak
performance on the midfield.
Kristianstad/Wä
3 Malmö FF 6 (0-2)
K/W: Åsa Lindberg (50), Katarina Andersson(79), Angelique
Sandberg (89).
M: Maria Westerblad (28), Malin Andersson (32), Therese Lundin
(52), Therese Norberg (60), Therese Sjögran (63), Jenny Engwall (85).
This neighbourly derby generally is very close. Malmö got a lucky
start. Therese Lundin and Malin Andersson scored once themselves and added
two assists to their records. Two of the top class scores were by home
players. Åsa Lindberg headed away a Malmö corner kick and started
an attack by herself across the entire field, then assisted by Katarina
Andersson Åsa got free and passed the ball behind Hedvig Lindahl
in the MFF-goal. The last goal of the match was an excellent header by
Angelique Sandberg, her first ever in the Allsvenskan.
Kopparbergs/Landvetter
4 Hammarby 0 (2-0)
Marit Björstedt (10), Nina Olofsson (40), Amelie Olausson (54), Ulrika
Björn (68).
After three wins in the first rounds Hammarby has gained only one point
in the following six matches. K/L got some easy goals and quite dominated
the match. The MVP of the both teams was awarded Marlene Sjöberg
of K/L and Cecilia Karlsson of Hammarby.
