Damallsvenskan, Sweden´s premier
league 8th round results
By Thorsten Frennstedt
Bälinge
1 Hammarby 1 (0-0)
B: Anna Fredlund
(54). H: Salina Olsson (83)
Hammarby played
poorly. Bälinge ought to have won but the team lacks real strikers.
Anna Eskhult had to play as back. Forward Maria Säfström, one
of the fastest forwards, sent a ball to Marini Andersson who hit the cross
bar in the first half. Salina Olsson took the ball away from a slack home
defender and equalized on a rare chance for Hammarby.
Malmö 3
Kopparbergs/Landvetter 2 (2-0)
M: Jenny Engwall (13), Therese Lundin (19), Malin Andersson (83).
K/L: Amelie Olausson (58), Ulrika Björn (75).
Malmö seemed to control the match after scoring with brilliant play
in the first half. In the second half their attackers lost their speed.
K/L´s long balls across the midfield produced some chances and Amelie
Olausson showed some weakness in the Malmö defence. Then Ulrika Björn
got free and equalized. Malmö then showed some courage as K/L tried
to save a highly unexpected point. Again Therese Lundin, as she did before
the first goal, gave away the ball in the box where Malin Andersson hit
the winning shot for Malmö.
Umeå ©
2 Kristianstad/Wä-0 (1-0)
U: Malin Moström (6), Tina Nordlund (74)
Some of the newly named players for Sweden´s National team did not
play this round. That goes for Umeå´s keeper Ulla-Karin Thelin,
back Sofia Eriksson and striker Hanna Ljungberg. Umeå had minor
fears of Kristianstad/Wä at the bottom of the table. However the
south-Swedes played extremely good defence featuring Åsa Lindberg.
HIF Alingsås
(P) 1 Sunnanå (P) 1 (0-1)
H: Martina Psag (51). S: Madelaine Edlund (44).
It was the first game in her new team for Camilla Ackerfors, the former
national team striker playing for Kopparbergs/Landvetter. She brings much
needed experience to the team. Sunnanå had good oppertunities to
score more goals than just the smashing header of Madelaine Edlund just
before half time. In the second half Sunnanå kepper Åsa Berglund
made some great saves.
Mallbacken (P)
2 Öster 0 (1-0)
M: Cecilia Klier (45, 54).
It was the first
goals tht Cecilia, 19, had scored in the Allsvenskan.
_" I just set my right foot to the ball when the pass came from my forward
mate Jenny Monsén," Cecilia explained afterwards. "It was like
that also when I scored the second."
Öster has not scored in its three last games and is tied for last
position in the league.
Älvsjö
- Djurgården 2-1 (1-0)
Ä: Victoria Svensson (18, 88), D: Karin Sandbrink (68).
As always this was
a very close Stockholm Derby with Älvsjö winning Djurgården
however dominated the midfield of a bad pitch. The players prefered to
use the flanks since it gave more chances. Anna Pohjanen was the "brain"
behind the free kick which fooled the Djurgården defence at 1-0.
Djurgården´s top striker Elin Flyborg seemed not to be in top
shape like Victoria. Karin Sandbrink equalized. The two top individuals
of the match were defenders, Jane Törnqvist, Älvsjö and
Karolina Rinman of Djurgården.
