By Thorsten Frennstedt
Malmö FF 6 Bälinge 0 (3-0)
Luiza Pendyk (15, 33, 41, 85), Malin Andersson 47, Therese Lundin (65) The top scorer of last year Luiza Pendyk added spark to Malmö. Malmö pounded Bälinge. The team looks strong. The two next matches are against top rivals Umeå (away) and Älvsjö (home). “If we want to finish better than number 3 this year, those games are our opportunity.” said Malmö head coach Lena Videkull .
Malmö seems to be in good shape, they showed top quality ball possession and a strong defense.
Hammarby 0 Umeå IK 3 (0-2) Hanna Ljungberg (2), Emma Lindqvist (39), Therese Kapstad (77). The match was played on artificial turf at Hammarby´s old ground. It became a very rough match, with four Hammarby players given Yellow Cards. Although the Umeå players played internationals last week-end most of them looked sharp. Tuesday night they will play in the Swedish Cup final for the first time. “That remains to be won. Everybody is looking forward to that match against title holders Djurgården .”said coach Roland Arnqvist.
Kopparbergs/Landvetter 4 Älvsjö 4 (1-4) Älvsjö Victoria Svensson (3), (41), (45), Anna Pohjanen (43) Kopparbergs/Landvetter Anna Maria Eriksson (27)), Ulrika Björn (61), Marit Björstedt (82), Lotta Schelin (88).
Älvsjö dropped from first position in the league, although ahead by three goals during the last minutes of the first half. This was not what anybody had expected. “We have to blame ourselves and make this draw a lesson for everybody. I must admit that Kopparbergs/Landvetter showed strong fighting spirit when down by three goals, “Älvsjö head coach Anders Johansson said.
Älvsjö has been ahead of champion Umeå for 7 rounds.
Kristianstad/Wä 0 Mallbacken 0
The home side dominated the first half. Maria Wanstadius hit the post with a header, and Mallbacken was close to scoring when K/W defender Åsa Lindberg cleared on the goal line. That one point could be crucial for K/W to prolong their stay in the Allsvenskan. “I think their team has developed well since we met them the first time,”says Mallbacken´s head coach Janne Jansson.
K/W has a strong defense but a weak offense. Usually Mallbacken scores every match. Djurgården 5 HIF Alingsås 0 (2-0) Karin Sandbrink (2), Jill Rubinstein (27), Sara Johansson (48), Camilla Hedlund (61), Tina Kindvall (85).
Öster 1 Sunnanå 0 (0-0) Ann Arvidsson (65)
If Öster had lost this game there would have been little hope of another season playing in Allsvenskan. However this is the third consecutive win for Öster. That makes the total of the year. Both teams showed wonderful spirit on the wet pitch. “In 70 percent of the matches we have played better than this, but we lost. This was a very crucial match and we just had to fight,” Öster head coach Peråke Antonsson said.
Ann Arvidsson forced the ball into net after a corner-Kick by Frida Nordin. Ann had rocketed the ball off the cross bar in the first half. After that Sunnanå´s Maria Ekman skipped her shot past the Öster post. Lena Gunnarsson, the Öster keeper, had to save three times when Lina Johansson took two shots and Katarina Söderberg was close to tying the game with just a few minutes to go.
