Damallsvenskan,
Sweden´s premier league 10th round results played June 16-17th
By Thorsten Frennstedt
Malmö 2
Djurgården 2 (0-1)
M: Therese Lundin (70,71).
D: Elin Flyborg (37,71)
7 or maybe 8 of the players on the field will play for Sweden in the European
final rounds from June 23rd. During this match you wouldn't know them
from the rest of players except for Elin Flyborg who is Sweden´s
most efficient player in the box. Her first goal looked as if it would
be the only one until suddenly Therese Lundin switched the match for Malmö.
But straight after the second kick off Elin scored the equalizer. Then
Malmö was the stronger team, however the home team should be pleased
with one point. Djurgården also hit the post twice (Therese Brogårde
and Sara Johansson).
Älvsjö
4 Sunnanå (P) 1 (2-1)
Ä: Jessica Thorn (39), Jane Törnqvist (45), Anna Pohjanen
(55), Linda Fageström (61).
S: Helena Svärd (23).
Sunnanå deserved the early lead. But later Älvsjö looked
the stronger team. Jane Törnqvist had recovered from her slight injury
during the international against Canada. She headed in to make it 2-1
just before half time. Victoria Svensson did not play against Canada and
entered for the last half hour. She made some good attempts but lost her
leader position in the scoring league to Flyborg.
Bälinge
2 Kopparbergs/Landvetter 0 (0-0)
Maria Krohn (PKm 56), Maria Säfström (88).
K/L's keeper Ulrika
Mellberg was sent off when she stopped Bälinge´s forward Therese
Sandström. It was the second win this season for Bälinge. After
the first goal the players played more confidently K/L created just one
scoring chance by Marit Björstedt in the first half.
Hammarby 0 Kristianstad/Wä
0
Both team are in severe need of points. Hammarby has not scored in five
out of ten matches, K/W in three matches. Both teams each had one good
chance to score the deciding goal, Hammarby when Anna-Linh Stenqvist and
Ingrid Olsson failed to control the rebounce from the cross bar, and Kristianstad/Wä
in injury time when Katarina Andersson got free but had too steep an angle
to shoot from.
Mallbacken (P)
4 HIF Alingsås (P) 1 (0-0)
M: Madeleine Breiling (53), Cecilia Klier (71,87), Jenny Möller
(89), H
A: Sara Jardving (73)
The guests dominated this match. Mallbacken is the surprise team this
season now in the 4th position in the league.
" We have been some lucky to score. Our fellow promoted opponents have
missed that thoughthey play as good as we."Mallbacken head coach Janne
Jansson explains.
The 2-0 did not tie the match. HIF Alingsås fought strongly after
the 2-1. Mallbacken though got some easy goals during the last minutes.
Umeå (C)
1 Öster 1 (0-0)
U: Hanna Ljungberg (68)
Ö: Frida Nordin (77)
This is an historic result. No other team could have been pointed out
as a 100 percent loser like Öster. The bottom of the league team
had earned just one point in 9 matches. Umeå with 7 Swedish national
team players is the favourite to win the title this year and Öster
is on the way to relegation. The Umeå players did not seem focused
on their task to beat Öster. After Hanna Ljungberg´s 1-0 there
were no more goals for the home side. Öster put all its resources
on defence. On the sole counter attack in the second half, Frida Nordin
looped a long ball over Ulla-Karin Thelin who was far out of her goal.
