October 17, 2001 Umeå IK wins Allsvenskan Swedish League Championship for second consecutive year Wednesday, October 17, 2001 Thorsten Frennstadt Umeå IK Wednesday night beat Bälinge IF 5-0 (2-0) in a match postphoned from the 19th round of the Allsvenskan. The win makes the Umeå team Champion of Sweden for the second consecutive year even though two rounds are still left to be played. Hanna scored three goals and Tina Nordlund two. The 5,487 in attendance was the biggest crowd ever to have attended a women’s soccer league match in Sweden. Rumors are still running around out that San Diego Spirits may be Hanna Ljungberg ´s next club.
