A Tina was awarded the Diamond Ball. The jury motivation for choosing Tina: "She has kept a high constant standard during the season and she has been the best player in Allsvenskan. Tina has a good technical skill, she is a good challenger one-to-one and she has the hability to surprise. Tina´s contribution is a major reason why her club team Umeå IK won the premier league for the first time." Tina Nordlund is 23 years. She has 29 caps and played for Sweden in the recent WC'99 and Olympic Games.

UMEÅ is Sweden´s new League Champion as Sweden's Elite league finishes its season

By Thorsten Frennstedt

Astrio 1 Kristianstad/Wä 2 (0-0)

A: Tina Edgren (28) PK
K/W: Maria Wanstadius (46), Elin Nilsson /72)
It was the last game in the Allsvenskan for Astrio, and it was an honourable farewell. K/W was not sure of the importance of the win. A defeat would have meant relegation if Kenty had beaten Malmö FF.

Hammarby 1 Bälinge 0 (1-0)
Linda Fagerström (57)
This was the first win in 9 games for Hammarby. They will try to forget this season full of injuries. Hopefully there will be a healthy come-back in April. Linda the scorer played for Bälinge until 3 years ago. Thanks to the win Hammarby passed Balinge in the final table.

Kenty 0 Malmö 2 (0-1)
Luiza Pendyk (36,61)
Malmö had to win to be sure of at least the second place in the league. Kenty had to win to keep its place in the league. It went to a tough fight. Kenty´s Charlotte Rohlin was sent off after stopping Malmö top scorer Luiza Pendyk.

Kopparbergs/Landvetter 2 Umeå 2 (1-2)
K/L: Kristin Bengtsson (33), straff, Anna Maria Eriksson (60)
U: Anna Sjöström (4), Therese Kapstad (34)
Umeå knew that this decisive game would be a difficult one. Though they seemed to control the match, the K/L .players were very efficient. Marit Björstedt created the PK. Kristin Bengtsson scored. "Kicki" also picked the CK before Anna Maria Eriksson made it 2-2 by a nice header. In the very end of the match Umeå-keeper Sofia Lundgren saved the shot from Marit Björstedt from close range.

The Umeå-players were handed the gold medals by Sweden´s FA president Lars-Åke Lagrell. This was the first time Umeå had won the Allsvenskan and after only four seasons.

Älvsjö 5 Sundbyberg 0 (2_0)
Jenny Syrén (16, 78), Anna Hall (28, 64), Jane Törnqvist (89)
An easy win for dethroned champion Alvsjö. Sundbyberg did not line up their key players who won the league last year. Älvsjö´s top striker Victoria Svensson was banned from this match because of 3 YK:s.

Öster 1 Djurgården 9 ((0-4)
Ö Lisa Johansson (77)
D: Jill Brommé (3), Elin Flyborg ( 4, 27, 29, 56, 64, 73), Jessika Sundh ( 55, 75)
Elin Flyborg became the only player in the Allsvenskan scoring six goals in a single match this year. Even with this big defeat Österfinished in its best its best position ever in the Allsvenskan. Before the Allsvenskan of 2000 experts? predicted that Öster would not make another year.

Attendance 59.

Summary
The three new teams to join the Allsvenskan next year, starting in April 2001 are Sunnanå SK, Mallbackens IF and Holmalunds IF Alingsås. Only the latter one has never played in the Allsvenskan. The other two are previous members.

Final standings of the Allsvenskan 2000
1) Umeå IK 53 points (Swedish Champions)

Results of games played in Elite Sweden League Allsvenskan on October 21/22

Thosten Frennstedt

Bälinge2 Älvsjö 2 (1-1)
B: Therese Karling (43), Carolin Hagberg (72)
Ä: Katarina Karlsson (14), Malin Andersson (85) PK
Älvsjö failed to capitalize on their chance of winning the league. It seems that Älvsjö lost its spirit in the previous round with the draw on home soil against Kopparbergs/Landvetter. Bälinge secured their contract for the next season. Åsa Wallgårda replaced injuried Ulrika Karlsson in the goal. Veronica Johansson got a RC and Älvsjö a PK upon which Malin Andersson saved the one point.

Malmö 5 Öster 0 (2-0)

Christina Papp (7), Therese Lundin (30), Eva Zeikfalvy 56 (PK), Linda Green (57), Therese Norberg (83).
Malmö still is the threat to Umeå´s expected championship win. Top scorer Luiza Pendyk was without a goal but caused the PK. According to Malmö head coach Lena Videkull the winning margin deserved to be doubled.

Djurgården_ 4 Astrio 0 (3_0)
JessikaSundh (8, 80), Anna Andersson (13), Elin Flyborg (42).
Elin Flyborg was nominated for Sweden´s national team against Finland but was injured. During the week she recovered.

Umeå 5 Kenty 0 (4_0)
Tina Nordlund (23), Emma Lindqvist (37), Linda Dahlqvist (40), Anna Sjöström (43), Therese Kapstad (89).
Tina Nordlund had not scored since the 8th round. She was the only of Umeå´s internationals who scored, however Hanna Ljungberg created some of the goals. Therese Kapstad scored the 4th time in a row - still as a substitute. Umeå is just one win away in their away match against Kopparbergs/Landvetter to be Swedish Champions for the first time.

Kristianstad/Wä 3 Hammarby 3 ( 0_1)

K/W: Therese Sjögran (46, 52), Sara Johansson (64).
H: Salina Olsson (45, 71), Ann-Sofie Södergren (72).
Both team would have saved there contracts with a win. K/W looked like the winners after Therese Sjögran hade equalized the Hammarby 0_1, scored 2 1 and given the ball for Sara Johansson to make it 3_1. Within two minutes Hammarby scored twice, and in the last minute Salina Olsson was close to make her hat-trick.

Sundbyberg 2 Kopparbergs/Landvetter 5 (1-2)

S: Tina Karlsson (16), Annette Köver (75).
K/L: Amelie Rybeck (35), Kristin Bengtsson (40, 69,straff), Camilla Ackerfors (62), Marit Björstedt (80).
This was the goodbye performance for Sundbyberg. The team will be relegated to the first division next season. The 1-0 score by Tina Karlsson Sundbyberg could not resist the west coasters who got some easy scores. K/L plays Umeå in the final round of this year´s Allsvenskan. If beating Umeå Malmö will win the gold medals if defeating Kenty in their away match. Kopparbergs/Landvetter however does not look strong enough to be a big threat for Umeå.

Game results and standings of week 20 of Sweden Elite LeagueAllsvenskan October 14, 2000

By Thorsten Frennstedt

Astrio 1 Malmö 3 (0-2)
Astrio Amelie Fogelberg(75)
Malmö Therese Lundin (28, 49), Luiza Pendyk (38),

Malmö failed to big win over Astrio the last team in the league. Too many chances to score were misshandled. Therese Lundin was selected for Sweden´s National Team roster that plays Finland on Wednesday. Therese looked the way she was before she was badly wounded in her knee.

Bälinge 2 Kristianstad/Wä 2 (0-1)
Bälinge Linda Blom (85), Carolin Hagberg (90).
Kristianstad/Wä Sara Johansson (37), Therese Sjögran (90) straff.
Bälinge could have possibly saved their league contract by defeating Kristianstad/Wä. The southerners however kept leading until 5 minutes from time. After the equalizer Carolin Hagberg scored what seemed to be the victory goal for Bälinge. In injury time however K/L got a PK and Therese Sjögran saved one extremly important point for her team.

Älvsjö 2 Kopparbergs/Landvetter 2 (1-0)
Älvsjö Victoria Svensson (45), own gaoal (77)
Kopparbergs/Landvetter Marit Björstedt ( 54, 61)
Maybe Älvsjö lost the chance of chasing Umeå for first place. Young Marit Björstedt scored twice for the west coasters. When the two teams met in the Swedish Cup Kopparberg/Landvetter forced Älvsjö to extra time and the win was by a golden goal. Älvsjö did not reach the level of the convincing play of last week-end against Kristianstad/Wä in this match.

Hammarby 1 Djurgården 2 (1-0)
Hammarby Cecilia Rongedahl (37)
Djurgården Elin Flyborg (49), Marie Ewrelius (56)
At last, Hammarby scored after exactly three goal-less hours of play. The same player who made the last one gave her team the lead this time. The twoStockholm teams know each other too well to be surprised. Elin Flyborgis back in the Swedish National roster. She has played two good matches after the Olympic stop. The victory goal was scored by the experienced Marie Ewrelius, former national team defender.

Kenty 2 Sundbyberg 2 (1-0)
Kenty Therese Sandström (42), Ann-Sofie Pettersson (89)
Sundbyberg Annette Köver (48, 81)
The only goal of the year by Ann-Sofie Pettersson could be a very important one to keep her team back in the league. That goes for Sundbyberg´s Annette Köver too. Thanks to the draw both teams kept their hopes of saving their Allsvenskan contract in the final round.

Öster 1 Umeå 5 (0-1)
Öster Own goal
Umeå Emma Lindqvist (1), Malin Moström (57), Frida Östberg (76), Therese
Kapstad (81) Hanna Ljungberg (89)
Umeå got a perfect start. but Öster played so well that the top team failed to secure the victory until late in the match. Öster was the team that sent Umeå out of the Swedish Cup, and last year Öster won the corresponding league match on Öster´s homed ground.

Matches 19 results of October 7 -8 in Sweden's Elite League Allsvenskan as league returns to schedule following halt during the Olympics

By Thorsten Frennstedt

Kristianstad/Wä 0 Älvsjö 3 ( 0-1)
Älvsjö Jenny Syrén (35), Jane Törnqvist (68), Lotta Fridh (74)

Kristianstad/Wä fought well and created its best chances during the first 20 minutes, especially Sara Johansson who was on Sweden´s Olympic roster but never played. The many national team players of Älvsjö won the game with pure experience.

Malmö 2 Hammarby 0 (1-0))
Malmö Luiza Pendyk (36), Christina Albertsen (90).
Malmö should have won by far more number of goals. Hammarby has taken just one point in six matches. The Stockholmers have put their new contract for the next season in jeopardy.

Sundbyberg 0 Öster 2 ( 0-2)
Öster Anna Mörstam (13), Anne Gutavsson (61)
Öster saved the contract in this difficult away match. It was as important to Sundbyberg, who seemed not be able to mobilize the same spirit as Öster. Sundbyberg was ranked higher than Öster before the league started.

Kopparbergs/Landvetter 2 Kenty 3 (1-1)
Kopparbergs/Landvetter Amelie Rybeck (1), Susanne Sunesson (70)
Kenty Theree Sandström (43), Elin Hammarman (48), Jnny Curtsdotter (56). Kenty was out of bounds a month ago. Kopparbergs/Landvetter had done well before the Olympic break. Although scored against in the first minute Kenty managed to turn over the match.

Djurgården 3 Bälinge 2 (2-2)
Djurgården Elin Flyborg (17, 69), Jessika Sundh (31)
Bälinge Självmål (13), Linda Grynner (37)
Djurgården coach Thomas Folkesson was head coach of Bälinge last season. He was also assistant coach of Sweden´s Olympic team. He was lucky to see his new club win. His defender Karolina Rinman was less lucky as she send the ball into her own goal for Bälinge to take the lead. She also caused the free kick that Linda Grynner equalized to 2-2. It was a tough sometimes unfair game. Bälinge played straight. Djurgården lost speed in passing the ball round and round.

Umeå 4 Astrio 0 (2-0)
Umeå Emma Lindqvist (20, 69), Hanna Ljungberg (21), Therese Kapstad (79).
Attendance:1,038
Bottom team Astrio tried to avoid being crushed by Sweden´s number one team Umeå. On the other hand the relegates had just three shots on the Umeå goal during the whole match. Hanna Lungberg and also Tina Nordlund were Umeå´s best players. They kept a good standard during the Olympics, which was not very succesful for Sweden. Both seemed to enjoy playing together withtheir club team-mates again.

Top scorers:
22 Luiza Pendyk, Malmö
18 Victoria Svensson, Älvsjö,
16 Elin Flyborg, Djurgården
13 Salina Olsson, Hammarby.
12 Jane Törnqvist, Älvsjö, Camilla Ackerfors, Kopparbergs/Landvetter

Results of week 18 of Sweden's Elite League Damallsvenkan
By Thorsten Frennstedt

August 29- 30
Sundbyberg 1 Hammarby 0 (1-0)
Sundbyberg Malin Swedberg (3)

Head coach Lennart Ljungqvist was right when he predicted another win for Sundbyberg. On the contrary Hammarby had a difficult time. Top scorer Minna Heponiemi has stopped playing after a controversy with her team leaders.

Kenty 0 Öster 2 (0-1)
Öster Jessika Wallström (39), Lotta Runesson (80)

The Öster players seemed more motivated than the Kentys. This was a key match to secure a position among the teams in the middle of the table. Öster missed some of its ill players.

Kopparbergs/Landvetter 5 Astrio 0 (3-0)
Kopparbergs/Landvetter Marit Björstedt ( 15, 24, 57, 74), Camilla Ackerfors (44)

The young Marit Björstedt doesn't looks like a rookie after her four goals. Kopparbergs/Landvetter has earned a safe position in the table

Umeå 3 Bälinge 0 ( 0-0)
Umeå Therese Kapstad (64), Emma Lindqvist (67)

Senior team leader Ing-Britt Lindberg had to replace the former keeper of the World All Star team Ulrika Karlsson who got sick. Due to the regulations 2nd keeper Åsa Wallgårda was not allowed to play from the start of the gamee.Otherwise she would have been disqualified to play in Bälinge´s 2nd league team. All the Umeå national team players seemed fit to go to Australia the next day.

Djurgården 2 Älvsjö 3 (1-2)
Djurgården Elin Flyborg (8, 82).
Älvsjö Jane Törnqvist (11), Malin Andersson (31) Victoria Svensson (55)

Älvsjö got its revenge for the final loss in the Swedish Cup. It was a very good game. All the Älvsjö players seemd fit except for captain Cecilia Sandell. She did not play the last league match before the take off. Jane Törnqvist however seems to have hit her top level.

Malmö 2 Kristianstad/Wä 2 ( 0-1)
Malmö Luiza Pendyk (51), Christina Papp (75)
Kristianstad/Wä Maria Wanstadius (12), Sara Johansson (88)

Malmo dropped two heavy points chasing Umeå for the lead of Allsvenskan. K/W has won three out of four points this season against top neighbour MFF. K/W played a very good game and earned the draw. However it seemed that it might not happen since Luiza and Christina had put Malmö ahead. Therese Sjögran and Sara Johansson gave the Malmö defence a hard task. Therese and Sara Maria Wanstadius contributed great support at the back.

Scoring leaders
21 Luiza Pendyk, Malmö

Results of week 17 of Sweden Elite League
by Thorsten Frennstedt

Bälinge 0 Malmö FF 5 (0-3)
Malmö FF Linda Green (6), Luiza Pendyk 15, 76), Karolina Westberg (45), Therese Lundin (69)
The early goal by Linda Green opened the way for an expected big win for Malmö. This was the second to last round before the take off for the players of Sweden´s Olympic team. Therefore those players were watched closely. Sara Call of Bälinge made her come-back a few months ago since her surgery for the knee injury. For reasons of caution Sara was moved out when she had pain after a collision. Malmö´s Karolina Westberg did a good job in her come-back after her foot injury a month ago. She even scored for the first time this season.

Älvsjö- 5 Kenty 0 (3-0)
Älvsjö Jane Törnqvist (17, 31), Victoria Svensson (40, 77), Jenny Syrén (71).
The two teams with equal points (Malmö & Älvsjö) are still on equal goal difference after their 5-0-wins. Kenty was an easier task, as their first keeper got a red card in the last game. Poor 2nd goalie Sandra Fält who had to play the champions on their home ground. Älvsjö´s Cecilia Sandell, also the captain of team Sweden, had to leave after a hamstring injury.

Kristianstad/Wä 1 Djurgården 4 (0-0)
Kristianstad/Wä Sara Johansson (90)
Djurgården Carolina Crevatin (51), Elin Flyborg (72), Tina Kindvall (82), Karolina Rinman (90).
Sara Johansson was unlucky to blow four good chances to score during the first half. Top team Djurgården was not it self. However the game changed when the shot from long range by Carolina Crevatin put Djurgården ahead. Still K/W kept hoping for the equalizer. It never came, just the single goal by Sara when the guests had scored their fourth.

Öster 0 Kopparbergs/Landvetter 3 (0-3)
Landvetter Camilla Ackerfors (17, 25, 83)
The west coasters got their revange for the loss in their home game. Many players of the Öster side hade been ill during the week. Everybody noticed that K/L won their fourth consecutive match.

Astrio 1 Sundbyberg 3 (1-1)
Astrio Amelie Olausson (22)
Sundbyberg Ulrika Kalte (38, 71), Cailla Hedlund (90).
The three bottom teams of the Allsvenskan are the newcomers of the year. Remember Ulrika Kalte? She was one of Sweden´s best players 5-6 years ago. The third win of the year put some optimism in Sundbyberg coach Lennart Ljungqvist. - Now we even can threat our neighbour Hammarby on Tuesday.

Hammarby 0 Umeå 3 (0-3)
Umeå Malin Moström (pk 23, 25), Anna Sjöström (27)
Except for five minutes during the whole game Hammarby played a good game against Sweden´s best team at the time. However Hammarby had few opportunities to score. Linda Fagerström hit the post in the first half.
Tina Nordlund was the best player on the field and in the Umeå-team. Hammarby has no win in its four last matches.

Scoring leaders
20 Luiza Pendyk, Malmö
17 Victoria Svensson, Älvsjö,
13 Salina Olsson, Hammarby.
12 Elin Flyborg, Djurgården
11 Camilla Ackerfors, Kopparbergs/Landvetter, Minna Heponiemi, Hammarby.
10 Jane Törnqvist, Älvsjö,

Results of week 16 August 19-10th) of Sweden Elite League Damallsvenskan
by Thorsten Frennstedt

Älvsjö 5 Öster 1 (4-0)
Älvsjö Victoria Svensson (6), Cecilia Sandell (12), Lotta Fridh (33) Jane Törnqvist (35), Johanna Robertsson (83)
Öster Lisa Johansson (89)
An easy win for the champions. Öster paid them too much respect. Although the second half was a 1-1 game, Älvsjö had scored four times during the first 45 minutes. The captain of Sweden´s national team Cecilia Sandell headed in the first goal, her first league-score this year. Älvsjö let Åsa Lönnqvist and Anna Pohjanen, two of the most experienced players rest during the first half and Malin Andersson left the field before the second.

Astrio 0 Kenty 4 (0-3)
Astrio Therese Sandström (8, 38), Helena Krantz (40), Anna Karlsson (54)
Astrio lost any hope of not being relegated from the Allsvenskan. Though Kenty-keeper Elinor Wistrand Birath was sent off, Camilla Svensson failed to score on the penalty kick. Astrio miss keeper Katarina Wicksell who has become an US- student.

Bälinge 3 Sundbyberg 0 (0-0)
Bälinge Carolin Hagberg (55), Anna Eskhult (60), Therese Karling (86)
Balinge has recovered and seems to be back in the style of over a year ago. That especially goes for midfielder Anna Eskhult. Sundbyberg has won just two games this season, one of them against Bälinge. Then Sundbyberg was a mid-team of the Allsvenskan and Bälinge at the bottom. Now it is the reverse, and Sundbyberg will be relegated.

Hammarby 3 Kopparbergs/Landvetter 4 (1-1)
Hammarby Ulrika Hultman (4) Salina Olsson (63), Cecilia Rongedahl (81)
Kopparbergs/Landvetter Kristin Bengtsson (27, straff), Camilla Ackerfors (61), Marit Björstedt (84)
The first game between east coast Hammarby and the west coasters Kopparbergs/Landvetter ended 4-3 in favour of Hammarby also. Kristin Bengtsosn, an anchor of Sweden´s National team, is a former Hammarby player. She knows her old home pitch and her former team mates so well that she almost decided the game. However new Marit Björstedt, one of the big talents of Sweden´s U 18-team dribbled through the entire home defence to score the winning 3-4-goal.

Kristianstad/Wä 1 Umeå 5 (0-1)
Kristianstad/Wä Sara Johansson (63)
Umeå Hanna Ljungberg (52,65,72), Frida Östberg (25), Therese Kapstad (87)
Hanna Ljungberg seems to be reaching her peak for the Olympics. However some of the goals are because of several mistakes by the home side back line. "Everybody wants to beat the first team of the league. We have to face
that situation now. The first half was tentative, the second we played like a team," head coach Richard Holmlund concludes.

Djurgården 0 Malmö 3 (0-2)
Malmö Therese Lundin (8), Luiza Pendyk (22), Therese Norberg (85)
This match was a curtain raiser for the Djurgården men´s team and was played in Stockholm´s ancient Olympic stadium of 1912. The New Cup Champion Djurgården seemed not to have recovered after its win against Älvsjö.
"Neither team reached its higest level. I´m satisfied that even then we can beat a top team," Malmö head coach Lenas Videkull declared.
"However Malmö defender Eva Zeikfavly had a top level performance. We could only regret that she will not be on Sweden´s olympic team due to studies."

Djurgården wins the Swedish Cup
By Thorsten Frennstedt

Djurgårdens IF of Stockholm defeated Älvsjö AIK 3-1 (1-0) to replace the Cup Champions.

The final was played in Stockholm. Although five of the Alvsjö players are in Sweden´s Olympic roster and none of the Djurgården side, it was a fair win for Djurgården. Two goals were scored by Anna Andersson and one (the 2-0) by Elin Flyborg. Jane Törnqvist scored the 2-1. Älvsjö missed the sharpness in their attacs. Anna and Elin are both forwards in Djurgården.

Results of week 15 in Sweden Elite League Damallsvenskan of August 12-13

Umeå 2 - Djurgården 0 (0-0)
Umeå: Linda Dahlqvist (50), Hanna Ljungberg (51)
Both teams acted uneasy during the first half. A tiny mistake by the Djurgården defence gave Linda Dahlqvist the first chance and then less than a minute later Hanna Ljungberg got free to score 2-0. After that the Umeå
side showed great confidence. Tina Nordlund was thebest player on the field. Umeå is now the number one team of the league too. With seven more rounds to go the obstacles seem reasonable. Djurgården plays Malmö in the next round. It could be a race beetween Umeå and champion Älvsjö.

Malmö 3 - Älvsjö 3 (2-0)
Malmö: Linda Green (9), Eva Zeikfalvy (26, pk), Christina Papp (81).
Älvsjö: Anna Pohjanen (51), Victoria Svensson (77), Lotta Fridh (80)

This was one of the two top matches in the league, No 1 Älvsjö and No 2 Malmö both have 32 points. Malmö dominated the first half. Top striker Luiza Pendyk caused the penalty kick and had some very good chances when she got behind the Älvsjö backs. Älvsjö regained its composure in the 2nd half. Anna Pohjanen shot 2-1 on a direct corner kick. Lotta Fridh put Alvsjö ahead but Christina Papp equalized in the next attack. The home crowd held their breath when the very last shot of the match from Malin Andersson swept close outside Malmö keeper Caroline Jönsson´s left post. Five of Älvsjö´s and three of Malmö´s players are on Sweden´s Olympic roster.

Kopparbergs/Landvetter 1 - Bälinge 0 (1-0)
Kopparbergs/Landvetter: Camilla Ackerfors (22)
K/L broke the winning streak of former last team Bälinge. Their consecutive wins ended at five. It became very much a midfield game. Bälinge attacked during the last 10 minutes and K/L-keeper Ulrika Mellberg made some great saves.

Öster 3 - Astrio 2 (0-0]
Öster: Jeanette Blomster (55), Lisa Johansson (63), Hanna Höckert (77)
Astrio: Maria Talmark (47), Susanne Persson (81)
Astrio took the lead, however that goal worked like a wake upcall for the Öster side. Jeanette Blomster´s equalizer was a nice header after a corner kick. After the 2-1- score Öster controlled the rest of the game though Astrio made it 3 2. Astrio may have have lost the tiny tie to keep its place in the next Allsvenskan.

Kenty 3 - Hammarby 3 (1-1)
Kenty: Elin Hammarman (44,50), Cecilia Andersson (63).
Hammarby: Minna Heponiemi (42, 90), Linda Lekander (80)
Kenty needed the three points more than Hammarby. Though the Stokholmers took the lead Elin Hammarman by two goals switched the game in advantage of Kenty. When Cecilia Andersson made it 3-1 the first win in 7 games seemed
to occur. The Kenty defence failed to clear at a Hammarby free-kick and then Minna Heponiemi forceed in the 3-3.

Sundbyberg 0 - Kristianstad/Wä 3 (0-3)
Kristianstad/Wä: Karin Ottosson (6), Sara Svensson (30), Nilla Fischer (36).
Sundbyberg played like a team that has given up both the hope and its ambitions to stay in the Allsvenska. The early goal of K/W had a bigger effect than it deserved. K/W top striker Sara Johansson (who is the surprise in the nomination of Sweden´s Olympic roster) had to stay aside because of a hamstring.

August 5-8th, 2000

Malmö 0 - Umeå 1 (0-0]
Umeå: Emma Lindqvist (65)
The away victory was the key for Umeå´s further fight for the top position in the league. At Umeå's home game Emma Lindqvist´s goal was equalized by Malmö just before time. This time the Umeå defence gave Malmö´s top striker Luiza Pendyk few chances to equalize .Her best play caused Umeå´s defensive player Maria Bergqvist to be given a red card when she grapped Luiza with only the keeper left to beat. Malmö´s top midfielder Jenny Engwall tore a ligament in her knee. National team player Karolina Westberg has still not recovered from her
foot injury at the previous match.

Älvsjö 11 - Astrio 1 (5-0)
Älvsjö: Malin Anderssson (6,64, 85), Lotta Fridh (76,77,86), Jane Törnqvist (2,27), Johanna Robertsson (35), Victoria Svensson (37), Jenny Syrén (68).
Astrio: Susanne Persson (85)
The many goals give Alvsjö a big goal difference which is worth one point if the league ends as close as it seems it will. Poor Astrio had no chance against the champions. Malin Andersson made some great shots, but the although it was a decisive win the team did not play at its best.

Kristianstad/Wä 1 - Kopparbergs/Landvetter 3 (1-1)
Kristianstad/Wä: Own goal (31)
Kopparbergs/Landvetter: Kristine Bengtsson 41 (pk), Anna Maria Eriksson (68), Paula Hasselgren (81).
Many of the home team players returned rather tired after last week´s many matches of Sweden´s Under- 21National teams. The best U-21 scorer Sara Johansson had to leave the K/L-side at half time. Kopparbergs/Landvetter faces Älvsjö on Wednesday in the semifinal of the Swedish Cup-tournament.

Hammarby 0 - Öster 1(0-1)
Öster: Lisa Johansson (12)
Öster was certainly lucky to win. Hammarby put the away team under fierce pressure in the seconed half when the ball only three times went into the Hammarby half of the field. In the very last minute Hammarby was awarded a p.k. Öster keeper Lena Gunnarsson guessed where Minna Heponiemi would hit the ball and made a great safe.

Djurgården 2 - Sundbyberg 0 (1-0)
Djurgården: Karolina Rinman (4), Karin Sandbrink (84)
Though it was a Stockholm derby the bottom team Sundbyberg was not able to surprise the top team Djurgården. 2-0 was a quite honourable result for Sundbyberg. Djugården´s top scorer Elin Flyborg was whistled
offside at least ten times.

Bälinge 2 - Kenty 0 (1-0)
Bälinge: Maria Krohn (17), Therese Karling (85)
Some months ago Kenty was clearly ahead of last team Bälinge. Now there is a great change in Bälinge's performance. Ulrika Karlsson is back in the goal. Emma Johansson dominated the field during the first half. The second
one lost in quality. 15 year young Jolanda Odenyo made a interesting appearance in Bälinge

Kopparbergs/Landvetter: Kristin Bengtsson (7)

DjurgŒrden: Karin Sandbrink (15), Malin Normelli (35 own goal), Daniella Haglund (69)

Sundbyberg 1 - Malmö 2 (0-0) Attendance: 197
Sundbyberg: Ulrika Kalte (64)
Malmö: Luiza Pendyk (76),Christina Papp (90)
Ulrika Kalte scored her first league goal for Sundbyberg. The former National Team player put her team ahead. Sundbyberg, the last team in the Allsvenskan was in shock to be leading but Malmö scored the victory goal in injury time. "We missed some of our National team players, and we had to change both the tactics and some players during the game to get through the Sundbyberg defense." Assistant coach of MFF Chister Andersson explained.

Öster 0 - BŠlinge 2 (0-0) Attendance: 101
Baelinge: Anna Eskhult (69),Emma Johansson (89)
Formerly in last place, BŠlinge played their fourth consecutive undefeated league game. Most of their many injured players at the start of the league have now recovered - keeper Ulrika Karlsson too. She chases the jersey of the Swedish OG-team keeper.

Kenty 0 - Kristianstad/WŠ 0
K/W had the very best chance to score a few minutes before time. However Kenty keeper Elinor Wistrand saved the header from Maria Wanstadius. It was a very important game for both teams not to lose. "At the end it was a fair result, though we worried just afterwards to have earned only one point, K/W coach Stephan kerstršm confessed."

Ume 0 - Älvsjö 2 (0-0)
Älvsjö:
Malin Andersson (82), Victoria Svensson (85).
It was important fšr champion Älvsjö to take three points in this difficult away game in UmeŒ. The home team with star Hanna Ljungberg playing the second half missed a lot of good chances. In the end the most experienced Älvsjö players tied in scoring; Malin Andersson who also started the attack finished by Victoria Svensson.

Kristianstad/Wä 2 - Öster 2 (0-0)
Kristianstad/Wä Sara Johansson (59), Nilla Fischer (84)
Öster: Hanna Höckert (77) pk, Lotta Runesson (85)
Kristianstad/Wä:dominated the game. During the first 3 minutes K/W created many great chances. Therese Sjögran is currently Sweden´s most creative player. She slipped the ball through to Sara for her goal to make it 1-0. However Öster equalized with their first real chance. Nilla Fischer headed in the ball from a corner kick for K/W to regain the lead. Lotta Runesson made it 2-2 with her only scoring chance.
"We were very lucky, "Öster coach Per Lindblad confessed after the game.

Malmö 3 - Kopparbergs/Landvetter 0 (2-0)
Malmö: Luiza Pendyk (4, 20),Christina Papp (75).
With Denise Reddy suspended because of her 3 yellow cards, Therese Lundin stepped forward and passed the ball to Luiza for the first two scores. Defender Eva Zeikfalvy, still the young team´s most experienced player maybe convinced National coach Marika Domanski-Lyfors to give her a chance in the Swedish Olympic team.
It could be at the cost of Kristin Bengtsson, the only yellow-blue starter
of K/L.

Bälinge 2 - Astrio 1 (2-1)
Bälinge: Emma Johansson (13), Anna Eskhult (25).
Astrio: Amelie Olausson (42)
Bälinge beat Astrio again and it means that the future looks brighter for the team from Uppsala. Stopper Marina Andersson who recently came back, again brought confidence in the back line. Veronica Johansson made a great come-back. Now just keeper Ulrika Karlsson (still injured) is missing.

Umeå 2 - Sundbyberg 0 (0-0)
Umeå: Anna Sjöström (61), Malin Moström (80).
Watching the first half of this game you wouldn't have known that Sundbyberg is at the bottom of the Allsvenskan. Sundbyberg has been waiting the entire spring for the come-back of goal-getters Anette Köver and former International (56 times) Ulrika Kalte. Sundbyberg meets the three top teams in a row. It is not likely the team will leave the last position next week.

Djurgården 5 - Kenty 1 (2-0)

Kenty 1 - Djurgården 1 (0-1)
Kenty: Therese Sandström (58)

Kopparbergs/Landvetter 1 - Malmö 3 (0-2)
Kopparbergs/Landvetter: Camilla Ackerfors (62)
Malmö: Luiza Pendyk (17, 36),Jenny Engwall (48)
Malmö got revenge for its loss in the Swedish cup against Landvetter. Though midfielder Linda Green was sick, coach Lena Videkull managed to put together a very strong side. Malmö changed succesfully from "The Diamond" to 4-4-2.
It is feared that K/L:s great national team player Kristin Bengtsson's career may end because of a serious back injury confirmed by an X-ray last week. Kicki however played the first half which could have been her last.

Öster 0 - Kristianstad/Wä 0
Both teams failed to finish their chances. It was an important match for bothteams to win so as not to be involved in the relegation part of the table. K/W played very well but too slow, Öster had more and better shots on goal. K/W keeper Lotta Karlsson made many great saves.

Djurgården Elin Flyborg (21, 71)

Bälinge: Linda Grynner (21), Josefin Öqvist (24), Anna Eskhult (30), Sara Call (35)

Hammarby 5 - Astrio 1 (2-1)
Hammarby: Minna Heponiemi (29, 81), Malin Engman (35), Salina Olsson (58), Linda Fagerström (90)

Attendance 264
Kristianstad/Wä 2 - Kenty 0 (1-0)
Kristianstad/Wä: Therese Sjögran (8,65)
Kristianstad has not lost a single home game in the first half of the league. On the other hand K/W has not won an away game either.. The most entertaining player of match was Therese Sjögran, perhaps the best player in the Allsvenskan.

Astrio 0 - Älvsjö 1 (0-0)
Scoring
Älvsjö: Jane Törnqvist (55)
Champions Alvsjo had their first win in four matches. Malin Andersson, the key midfielder played the whole game but her team mate in the National Team Cecilia Sandell had to be replaced in the second half.
Alvsjö coach Anders Johansson gave credit to the new players for having improved its defence 100 percent since the first rounds.

Scoring
Kopparbergs/Landvetter: Anna Maria Eriksson (2), Camilla Ackerfors (19, 53) Amelie Rybeck (62)

Kristianstad/Wä had spent too much effort when beating neighbor Malmö in the previous round. Although Kopparberg/Landvetter was missing national player Kristin Bengtsson because of her back injury they played a more intense attacking game.

Umeå IK 1 - Malmö FF 1 (0-0)
Scoring:
Umeå: IK Emma Lindqvist (56)
Malmö: FF Luiza Pendyk (88)
The last time these two top teams played each other was in the semi final round of the Swedish championships. It was a draw then also. However this time Malmo equalized very late.
Umea had most shots on goals. Under-18 National keeper Johanna Fischer replaced Women's National keeper Caroline Jönsson, who received a red card in Kristianstad.

Sundbyberg 0 - Djurgården 0BR> This was a Stockholm derby. The more experienced Djurgården should have had an easy win but Sundbyberg fought strongly especially during the last 25 minutes of the game. Sundbyberg pulled back their most experienced players Malin Swedbergand and Julia Carlsson to calm down the Djurgården attacks.

June 4 Malmö 4 - Bälinge 1 (2-0)
Scoring
Malmö: Christina Albertsen (6,31,69), Luiza Pendyk (47)
Bälinge: Josefin Öqvist (70).
Baelinge, the last team of the league was close to equalizing on a Malmö self goal for it seemed that keeper Caroline Jönsson had cleared the ball from behind the line. Balinge concentrated on stopping Malmö´s topscorer Luiza Pendyk but did left Christina Albertsen alone. Ulrika Karlsson is stillsuffering a back injury and did not play, but coach Per Widén said that she might be back for next match against Umeå. Malmö´s Jenny Engwall was suspended after two yellow cards in previous games.

Kopparbergs/Landvetter 0 - Öster 1 (0-1)
Scoring
Öster: Anna Mörstam (34)
A surprise result because Kopparbergs/Landvetter seemed to be on the run. Öster was much more committed than last week. -"Otherwise we would have dropped this game zero to ten." Öster coach Per Lindblad said.

Djurgården 4 Kristianstad/Wä 0 (3-0)
Scoring
Djurgården: Anna Andersson (6,45), Elin Flyborg (34, 87)

Kenty 1 - Älvsjö 1 (0-0)
Scoring
Kenty: Angelica Karlsson (88)
Älvsjö Victoria Svensson (65)
The biggest surprise of the league so far. Especially the strength of Kenty to fight back and equalize though Älvsjö had put some hard pressure during the entire match. Elinor Wistrand, the keeper of Kenty was awarded Player of the Match.

Umeå 3 - Hammarby 2 (2-2)
Scoring
Umeå: Hanna Ljungberg (32,66), Tina Nordlund (36)

Scoring
Hammarby: Minna Heponiemi (8, 90), Salina Olsson (13), Cecilia Rongedahl (63).

Djurgården 1 - Umeå 1 (1-1)
Scoring
Djurgården: Karolina Rinman (16)
Umeå: Sofia Eriksson (24)
Djurgården of Stockholm did very well against the top team of Umeå playing against several national team players. Djurgården missed some chances in the first half, as did Umeå in the second. They were both unable to make decisive scores. Hanna Ljungberg of Umeå came back in 2nd. She has missed some of Swedens internationals. However she is still not fit to play team Sweden´s away match in France, that goes for the European Championships qualification.

Älvsjö: Anna Hall (12), Malin Andersson (14), Lotta Fridh (75), Jane Törnqvist (89), Katarina Karlsson (90).

Comment
Jane Törnqvist scored the goal of the game, a volley from 30 meters and Malin Andersson ,her Sweden´s National Teammate, showed the way to victory with her first league goal of the year. This was the first game that Älvsl has scored more than two goals.

Öster: Anna Mörstam (4), Lotta Runesson (42), Hanna Höckert (88, straff)
Sundbyberg: Lotta Lindahl (17), Annika Larsson (85)

Comment
A disappointing start for Sundbyberg, the promoted team that many expected to add something new to the top of the league

Astrio 0 Umeå 6 (0-3)
Umeå: Tina Nordlund (10, 60, 65), Malin Moström (17), Emma Lindqvist (39), Therese Kapstad (80).

Comment
0 for and 15 goals against in two consecutive matches for this year´s promoted team from the west coast (Halmstad). However Umeå from the north is the favourite to challenge champion Alvsjö this season.

Bälinge 1 - Djurgården 1(0-0)
Bälinge: Linda Blom (40)
Djurgården: Anna Andersson (71)

Comment
Balinge of Uppsala had a bad start but saved the first point in its previous match in Kristianstad. Now it has improved and Djugården (Stockholm) lost its first points. Sara Call was a starter for the first time since she was badly wounded her knee last summer just before the WWC '99.

Hammarby 0 - Malmö 1 (0-1)
Malmö: Luiza Pendyk (31)

Comment
Unfortunately for Sweden, Luiza Pendyk has played internationals for Poland, so she cannot play for Sweden though she is the highest ranked forward in Sweden.

Kenty 1 - Kopparbergs/Landvetter 1 (0-1)
Kenty: Charlotte Rohlin (88)
Kopparbergs/Landvetter: Kristin Bengtsson (27)

Comment
Kenty of Linköping took its first points at its home ground in Fredriksberg. Since the win in Sundbyberg last Sunday the team has gained self confidence.
