August 24, 2001 Brazil’s 2001-National Women's Championship heats up By Raphael José maciel de Pádu Thursday 23 August 2001 10:00 (RIO) The most successful teams to date are Internacional from Porto Alegre and Maringa Seleto. These two teams from the south of the country have already booked their second round berths having a 100% record in the competition so far. Colorado's striker Duda is the top scorer in the tournament with five goals. While Inter and Maringa Seleto are well on their way in the second round, the CBF's Futebol Esperanca team has bowed out of the competition without a win. The team is made up of players that took part in the last four Poorer Communities championships organized by the CBF and after two defeats they ended their campaign going down 12 - 0 to Alagoas.
