Game
The
USA controlled the match throughout as Mexico seemed unwilling to make
a real game of it. Some good goalkeeping by Molina, particularly in the
second half kept the apparent tactical plan by Mexico from becoming a
complete disaster.
Excellent
defensive work by the U.S. backline kept the occasional long ball counterattack
by Mexico under control, and the increased tempo of their midfield and
front line in the second half brushed aside any hope for a Mexican revival.
