Mexico roster includes Lisa Nanez of the SanJose CyberRays the current WUSA Champions, Monica Gerardo of the Washington Freedom, and Gina Eagleson, who was on the San Diego Spirit roster for most of the WUSA season before beingwaived and picked up by the CyberRays. Eagleson, formerly Oceguera, captained Mexico at the 1999 Women’s World Cup. The CyberRays waived her after the season.
Among those chosen by Mexico are 5-foot-10 defender MonicaGonzalez, who starred for Notre Dame during her senior year this past fall, goalkeeper Linnea Quinones the former San Diego State star who was the starter at the 1999 Women’s World Cup, forward Iris Mora, who scored against the USA in Mexico’s 3-2 loss at the end of 2000, former USC Trojan Susie Mora, and University of Portland defender Ana Del Bosque.
