Game report

In a match between two top level teams it was the German squad that jumped off to a three nil lead, but the Canadians scored two quick goals in the action filled first half. After Canada evened up the match in the second half, the equally balanced sides slowed down some in the oppressive heat and finished the match fairly tied.

Post match quote

Canada Head Coach Ian Bridge

We played a good match tonight and all of the goals were finished extremely well. There were some defensive errors however but in the end, I think a draw was a fair result. We are where we wanted to be (in the Quarterfinals) and now must prepare for the knockout stage.

The draw means that Canada finishes second and the Germany finishes on top of Group A with a superior goal difference.

Canada will play China in the Quarter-finals
