The "English disease' persists as BBC World Television and Fox Sports World (Sky Sports news) ignore the FIFA Women's Player of the Year

It was incredible today to watch the BBC World television and Fox SportsWorld television insult the millions of women playing soccer in the world today and carefully ignoring the FIFA Women’s Player of The Year Award to Hamm. They gave extensive coverage to Figa winning the men’s award and even had stories on the men’s fair play award, but as far as they were concerned women were still not part of the soccer (football) scene.

In terms of attitude to women in soccer and sports the English media again confirmed our previous comments, and can be safely grouped with the Italians with their Neanderthal views of women in sports.

The three female finalists, Hamm, Sun Wen and Milbrett, have shown themselves to be more than equal to the male players nominated. Not only as superb athletes with outstanding soccer skills and understanding of the game, but also as role models in their dedication to promotion of the game instead of themselves.
