USA /Canada game for third place should be a humdinger!
Usually third place games are somewhat lacking in intensity. Not so for tomorrow's match.
A Canadian squad that has been buoyed by its success will be out to try and improve its standing in CONCACAF by knocking off its long time neighbor and rival. On the other hand the USA team does not take kindly to defeat, and will not want another after its German experience.
Unfortunately the result may depend on the quality of officiating, which has been spotty in this tournament, particularly by the lineswomen. It is too much to expect an official, whose experience is in a country with few top level matches, to be able to handle the higher pace and quality of World Cup competition.
