1. Gold Cup comments

In CONCACAF, as in many of the other federations around the world, there is still a large gap between the top two teams USA and Cananada, and the rest. After its adoption of (dual citizenship) U.S. college trained players Mexico has been improving steadily and their game play is already close to the North Americans. One expects and hopes that some of the CONCACAF players seen at this tournament will be recruited by colleges in the USA for most of them have progressed little in the last ten years. Women's/girls programs have apparently have not seen much of the financial largesse handed out to their federations by FIFA President Blatter.
