An Olympic Gold Cup Final that was a showpiece of the brilliance of women's international soccer

Two national teams with completely different styles playing their hearts out for the honor of their respective countries.

We have seen the Brazilian Team at it's best in these Olympic Games,.with a new and better organized coaching style that has lifted the quality of play whilst still retaining their famous Brazilian ball skills..

Unfortunately for them the U.S. National Team has like many other top international squads raised it's own quality of overall play. There are now many players available in the United States with similar ball control skills that we have long admired in Brazilian teams..In today's final we noticed that often U.S. players were dribbling and beating Brazilians at their own game..

U.S. Head Coach Pia Sundhage has done a wonderful job with the National Team, and it shows on the field. She and her staff have brought a new look to the team in expanding their game skills, and they have regained a coherence that had ben lost in the preivious years of substandard coaching..We are seeing again the mental and physical toughness that the National Team has been famous for since its entry into international soccer.

We are look ing forward to the next FIFA Women's World Cup!.
