Financial problems
put Japanese women's soccer in crisis.
The Nikko Securities Dream Ladies once had famous Norweigian players like Linda Medalen, Hege Riise, Gun Nyborg, Heidi Store, Agnete Carlsen, playing for them, but no longer. They are closing the team because of the financial difficulties of its parent company, and 4 teams including DL are dropping out from L-League because of similar reasons.
L-League has decided to exclude foreign players for this year to save money for each team. L-League will be starting with 7 teams from April. Even the National Team program is threatened.
