Weather causes fixture backlog in English FA leagues plus other news

The 'mighty gunners' take a big step towards the title, by beating the champions 5-0, who have changed their name and seem to be losing players for a variety of reasons, including the Premier Club suspending a couple of players for violent conduct. The FA have also to rule on the incident, which surprisingly, did not include an opponent.

Because of the backlog of fixtures, the English FA will hold a crisis meeting in January, with an extension to the season beyond May 7th (Cup Final Day) being an obvious option.
