Commentary

Brighton & Hove Albion, promoted from the South Division, started well by beating Tranmere Rovers. Leeds Utd, promoted from the North Division, did not fair so well, as they lost to champions Arsenal, who have scored 10 goals in two games (5 last week in the Charity Shield last week).

Doncaster Belles, runners-up last season go to the top with a 5-1 win, but have to face Arsenal next Sunday, one of those early season 'big' matches.
