BUSA Championships quarter-finals results

The quarter-finals of the BUSA CUP were played yesterday, with reigning champion Loughborough struggling to get past Brunel West London. It was a repeat of the 2000 final when Brunel won 3-2 after extra time. An extra 30 minutes was also needed this year after a 2-2 tie at the end of regular time. This time Loughborough managed to score three times in extra time to reach the semi-finals. Their opponents on April 24th will be Leeds Metropolitan, who also needed extra time to beat Wolverhampton, 3-1.

Last season's runners-up, Crewe & Alsager eased through with a 4-1 victory at Chichester, and they will play Brighton, who needed penalties (3-2) to get past Manchester after a goalless 120 minutes.

The final is scheduled for May 1st at Stevenage Borough AFC.
