Colin Aldis

In the 2nd round of matches in Group 8 of the new club tournament, hosted by FC Bern of Switzerland, Arsenal beat Hapeol Tel Aviv 7-0, to go to 6 points and a plus 11 goal difference.

The local club, then beat KZ AZS Wroclaw (Poland) 3-1, (both clubs on 3 points) which allows Arsenal to only need a draw against Wroclaw on Friday afternoon, to win the mini-tournament, and go intothe quarter-finals.

Three clubs, Norwegian champions Trondheims Orn, OB (Denmark) and FC Ryazan TNK (Russia) have already qualified for the last 8.

The draw for the quarter-finals will be made at the UEFA conference in Oberhausen today. These matches will be played in March, with home and away ties.
