Commentary May 20, 2001

Doncaster Belles finish the season in 2nd place, anotherseason without any major silverware, which has all gone to Arsenal.

Once again, the top 5 teams are the same as the previous season, with a change in the order, as Charlton (Croydon last season) were champions last time. They will want to finish their matches, to be 3rd, with the match against Liverpool to come.

Barry Town and Sunderland as the promoted clubs, will be happy to have kept their places in the top flight.

At the lower end of the table, Liverpool must try and re-group in the Northern Division, and Millwall Lionesses must do the
same in the Southern Division.

Leeds Utd will replace Liverpool next season, and Brighton & Hove Albion will replace Millwall.
