Beijing Chengjian defeat Sichuan Jiannanchun 1-0

Beijing Chengjian got their first win in the new season with a goal from China National Team player Ren Liping.

After the opening ceremony of this WSL season, the match between Beijing Chengjian and Sichuan Jiannanchun kicked off in Beijing Xiannongtan Stadium. According to CFA(China Football Association) rules, two clubs must use all of their foreign players in the match. Unfortunately, Beijing defender Sonia, from Australia, was not included in the starting line-up. “She has a cold and we must protect her from further illness.” Beijing head coach Wang

Haiming said after the match.

The visitors missed several chances and thanks to Sichuan goalkeeper Xiao Zhen¡¯s performance, Beijing controlled the game easily holding them to a goalless draw the first half.

Defender Gu Yingwas substituted in for Wang Dandan at the beginning of the second half. At the same time, China National Team defender Li Jie changed position to midfield.

Ten minutes later Wang Haiming sent on Liu Ying to try and break the deadlock but no one scored until the 43rd minute. Just two minutes before the end of the match, Beijing midfielder Ren Liping was tackled by Sichuan

defender. Ren¡’s free kick gave her team sealed a 1-0 victory. She was voted as the MVP of the match.
