Jia Ailing

Jianlibao Corporation have reached an agreement with the CFA to sponsor RMB4, 000, 000 for the upcoming China Women's Premier League, Jianlibao president Li Jingwei said yesterday.

Although the China Women's National Team gained a reputation as one of the top three women's teams in the world after the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the 1999 World Cup, the China Football Association were unable to solve the financial problems in the league. Only one company sponsored 1999 China Women's Premier League and there was no sponsorship for the last season.

China Women's Premier League will kick off on March 23rd and finish on September 1st. There are ten teams that will try their best to claim the title. The teams are defending champions Shanghai TV, runners-up Guangdong Haiyin, Beijing Chengjian, Hebei Xinao, Sichuan Jiannanchun, PLA Jianlibao, Henan, Shandong, Dalian and Qingxin. CCTV will broadcast one important match in each round.
