Defending champions Shanghai TV finished in a goalless draw with Dalian in the second round of China's League.

Dalian organized an effective defense while depending on national goalkeeper Han Wenxia, and injury-depleted Shanghai could not find a way to break the deadlock.

"Although we did not win the match, I am satisfied with my players' performance. The young players try their best," Ma Liangxing, the head coach of defending champions, said after the match, "Four of our key players are training with China national team now, and Mo Chenyue and Xie Huilin could not play because of injuries. So I had to send in two teenagers, Zhao Ying and Chi Yi, as forwards. They are inexperienced compared to the veterans."

In their first match against the China National U-19 Team, Shanghai won 3-2. In the 1st minute, Shanghai Zhao Ying's volleyed over China U-19s' goalkeeper and broke the deadlock. China U-19s Wei Xiaohui equalised with a long-range shot five minutes later. Mo Chenyue scored Shanghai's second goal in the 14th minute. Chi Yi tapped the ball into the net after a cross from Yu Wenjing and helped Shanghai take a 3-1 lead four minutes before the interval. In the 53rd minute, China U-19s Li Nan's penalty found the back of the net after Shanghai defender Chen Miaoyan handled the ball in the box.

In Group B, Beijing Chengjian won for the second time by routing Jiangsu 7-0 and Guangdong Haiyin won 1-0 against Shandong. Shanghai Shengjie was defeated 1-0 by Shanxi.
