Game report

Canada came out with their attacking threesome of Sinclair, Hooper, and Wilkinson, a comnination that put Holland off balance from the opening whistle.
In the first minute of play Wissink kicked out a shot from Schmidt and it would quickly go downhill from there for Holland.

Less than three minutes later Hooper converted a failed clearance for her first goal. Although four minutes later Holland counter attacked quickly with a clever run by Louwwars who passed off to an unmarked Smith who drove it firmly past the keeper, Hooper took charge again when Neil headed a ball towards goal, and flicked it past the goalie for the go ahead goal.

Twenty minutes from the end of the match Schmidt cemented the win when she ran on to a free kick by Timko, and headed it past the keeper.

Post game quote by Head Coach Even Pellerud
We played another solid game; maybe more solid than spectacular. It was a very similar game to the match on Wednesday when we managed once again to put a lot of pressure on the Dutch team and could have scored more than we did.

Perhaps we were more lively this afternoon and a bit more skillful but the game was also hindered somewhat by a very strong wind.

Overall the goal chances were exactly the same as our last game which is quite remarkable, but in the end we won two matches against a Dutch team that perhaps was expecting to perform a bit better than they did.
