February 16, 2004 Valentine Weekend sees the Capetown Angels hosting African Tribe and Santos Ladies FC Angels give African Tribe Valentine Roses but they get pricked by thorny Santos Friday, February 13, 2004 Capetown Angels 6 African Tribe 0 Valentine's Day Weekend was a tough one for the Angels. They are standing fourth in the league, and African Tribe is in fifth place. Footy Friday always creates a wonderful atmosphere and the weather in Cape Town did not let the Angels supporters and team down. The game started with African Tribe taking the offensive but the Angels kept their shape well and were organized in defense. The Angels defensive line, Tarry Mackenzie, Malicka Bridgens, Charne Paulsen and Nadia Fransman played aggressively giving one another good cover. The Angels squad have an average age of 14 years and put on a show to remember with great control, passing and moving. Kayleenıs combination play with Striker Lynne Dirks, Lindsey Dolman and Nadia Fransman was breathtaking with some of their movement off the ball getting the best of their experienced opponents. Sunday, 15 February 15, 2004 Angels 0 Santos 2 The Santos Ladies FC. Santos currently are in second place in the league and proved to be a thorn in the side of the home team. The Angels were nursing some wounds but their the girls were in good spirit. The game started out quick with the Angels working hard for one another covering, shifting and pressuring but the Santos Ladies were much quicker to the ball and this posed problems for the Angels. They outplayed Santos through the middle of the park giving a good account of themselves so Santos stuck to hoofing the ball over the top for their strikers to run onto. The Angels battled the onslaught of Santos and turned it into fast-break opportunities and with their good technical ability got a shot on target. Santos sent the ball down the field with another long kick that the Angels could not clear quickly enough and Santos had one in the net just before the end of the first half. The Angel's Coach Lee Du Plessis must have given the Angels a team talk at halftime because they came out in the second half with all guns blazing, and put Santos under pressure. Santos made one trip down the field in the second half and put the ball in the net.
