The host team controlled the second half but in the 93rd minute Peters' wonderful free kick stunned the goalkeepers Xiao Zhen and sealed the Qantas Matildas' victory.

"Through out the match, I found some problems," the new head coach Pen Encai said after the match, "the players are so young and they looked so nervous in the match. We have a long way to go and we have to pay for the further victories."
