Group A in Yixing, Jiangsu province

Guangdong 3 Shanxi 0
(Rao Huifang 5', 21'; Fang Xiaoyan 79')

Rao Huifang scored the first goal in the 5th minute and found the
back of the net again in the 21st minute. Fang Xiaoyan's long-range shot
helped the team seal the victory.

" It is a good start," Guangdong head coach Lin Siyue said after the match, but we still have a long way to go."

Hebei 2 Jilin 0

Group B in Guiyang, Guizhou province

Liaoning 2 Guizhou 0
(Zheng Qin 75', 80')

With goals from Zheng Qin, Liaoning defeated Guizhou 2-0 in their first
match of the 10th National Games preliminary.

The minnows Guizhou hobbled Liaoning's scorers using a heavily defensive formation, which turned the expected goalfest into a close hard-fought contest. The 34-year-old Zhengqin broke the deadlock in the 75th minute and she added another goal five minutes later.

" Zheng Qin is the oldest player in the team and young players should learn
from her," Liaoning head coach Li Xicai said after the match.

Although having power forwards like Han Duan and Bi Yan, Liaoning had to depend on the veterans to claim the victory.Liaoning will play Anhui on April 5.

Beijing 5 Gansu 0

Beijing took a 2-0 lead in the first half and thrashed their opponents 5-0.
In the match, Ren Liping finished her hat-trick and Zhang Tong
added other two goals.

Henan 2 Anhui 0

Group B in Nanchang, Jiangxi province

Sichuan 1 Xinjiang 0
(Zhuang Ran 5')

The rookie Zhuang Ran scored the only goal with a free-kick in the 5th
minute and her team held on for the win. After conceding the goal Xinjiang controlled the match, but were unable to create real chances.

" It was a tough match and I am happy with the result," Sichuan head coach Li Xiaofeng said.

Sichuan will play their second match against Zhejiang on April 5.

Tianjin 5 Shandong 4
(Li Chunni 31', Yin Yumeng 82')


Tianjin defeated Shandong 5-4 on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw.

Shandong forward Li Chunni broke the deadlock in the 31st minute and Yin Yumeng scored the equalizer for Tianjin just eight minutes before the end of the game.

" We still have a good chance and if the team could defeat Xinjiang in the next match, Tianjin would enter the finals," Tianjin head coach Zhang Guilai
said.

PLA 7 Zhejiang 0
Li Nan scored her first goal in the preliminary and the team crushed the
minnows Zhejiang 7-0. PLA head coach Bai Jie said that she was
satisfied with players' performance and her team would take the next matches seriously.
