Ma Liangxing names squad for AFC Women's Championship

China boss Ma Liangxing has named a 20-woman-squad for the upcoming AFC Championship in Thailand.

Four players will miss the tournament as Shanghai TV trio Xie Huilin, Chen Jinyu, Zhu Jing, as well as Han Wenxia the goalkeeper for Dalian Shide are struggling with injuries, but they will join the national team after the championship.

Ma Liangxing is still without the striker Zhang Ouying, who is playing for San Diego Spirit in WUSA, but stars like Sun Wen, Bai Jie and Zhao Lihong have returned to the squad.

The tournament is to be played from June 8th. to June 21st. The participating teams are hosts Thailand, defending champions DPR Korea, Uzbekistan, China PR, Chinese Taipei, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea Republic, Myanmar, The Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. The fourteen teams are divided into three groups. China PR, Uzbekistan, India and Vietnam are in the same group.
