US Youth Soccer to host UniroyaL's Tire TopSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) Summit at the Denver Airport Marriott at Gateway Park in Aurora, CO, April 27-29

More than 100 state association representatives will attend the three-day event, which features lectures and demonstrations by Adaptive Physical Education Specialist John J. (Jack) De Fazio and behavior management by Licensed Marital and Family Therapist James Sanders. De Fazio will also conduct an on-field presentation with Tom Hart, the director of recreational coaching education for US Youth Soccer. The on-field demonstration will be conducted at the Denver Church of Christ in Arvada, CO.

De Fazio received master's degrees in special and elementary education from
Marshall University, and earned a diploma from the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America. He has spent much of his career with the Cabell
County School District as a job developer for special needs students, head
soccer coach, and an adaptive and elementary physical education specialist.
He also served as a director with the YMCA's physical education and aquatic
program for special needs students, and the West Virginia Special Olympics
Summer Games.

Sanders earned a master's degree in clinical psychology from Ball State
University, and has served as a psychological consultant for the last 11 years. He has developed behavioral support programs and services for developmentally delayed and dually diagnosed adults and children. He has also worked as a residential services administrator responsible for a 72-bed intensive treatment center, four supported group homes, and a therapeutic foster care program for 60 children. He is currently the director of behavioral services for Behavior Consultation Services.

TOPSoccer is a community-based training and team placement program for
young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association
volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl who has a mental or physical disability. The TOPSoccer goal is to enable the thousands of young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the US Youth Soccer family.
