U.S. Soccer/Uniroyal Tire TopSoccer Summit a success

More than 100 representatives from US Youth Soccer's 55 state associations attended the UNIROYAL Tire TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) Summit at the Denver Airport Marriott at Gateway Park in Aurora, CO.

The opening event featured a welcome by TOPSoccer Committee Chair Jan Carter and by Secretary of the US Youth Soccer Board of Directors Evelyn Gill, and a brief presentation from UNIROYAL? Tire. The three-day event featured lectures by Adaptive Physical Education Specialist, John J. (Jack) De Fazio and behavior management by Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, James Sanders.

The attendees witnessed an on-field demonstration by a local TOPSoccer team from the Colorado Youth Soccer Association. Besieged by neighboring prairie dogs, De Fazio proved that actions speak louder than words by conducting one-touch passing and shooting drills and a scrimmage. Following the scrimmage, the scrimmage participants were treated to a "support salute" by the parents and TOPSoccer representatives.
