The Fourth Annual Soccer In The Streets Cup, renamed the "SITS Heroes Cup", brings over 400 children, ages 6 to 17, to metro Atlanta

The Fourth Annual Soccer In The Streets Cup, renamed the "SITS Heroes Cup", brought over 400 children, ages 6 to 17, to metro Atlanta for fun, fellowship and some great competition. Several teams traveled a long way to participate in the event.

Despite steady winds and spells of sleet and cold rain, the teams braved the elements to showcase their skills. The Milwaukee contingent conceded that although they were accustomed to bitter cold, they didn't expect it in Atlanta. The coaches and parents for the Jacksonville Strikers managed to buy every available pair of mittens and gloves from the local dollar store for their five teams. Hot cocoa was the order of the day for players and fans alike.

In the recreational brackets, Unity Sports of Greenville, SC, dominated play in the Under-12 and Under-14 girls age groups. Clayton County (GA) teams took second place in the Rascals, U14 Girls and Titans, U12 Girls, as well as first place in the Under-8 co-ed division (Tigers.)
