November 8, 2001 ODP Thanksgiving Interregional, November 19-24 at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton as players vie for recognition Players will compete for a chance to be included in the U.S. Under 16 and Under 19 National Team Pools at the US Youth Soccer Girls ODP this month. US Youth Soccer's 55 State Associations are divided into four Regions. Each ODP squad will consist of the best players from each respective Region. Each Region will field a team representing the 1984, '85, '86 and '87 age groups. They will play a round-robin format while competing in their respective age groups. The '84 and '85 teams will play two 45-minute halves, while the '86 and '87 teams will play two 40-minute halves. Teams earn three points for a win and one point for a tie. The team with the most points at the end of the round-robin tournament is the winner. A full staff of Regional and National Coaches will be there to evaluate players for consideration for the U-16 and U-19 National Team player pools, and the US Youth Soccer '84 and '85 All-American teams, and '84 All-American Academic Team. US Youth Soccer Girls ODP Committee Chairperson, Judie Churchill, said. "I am amazed at the opportunities these kids have, and I invite everyone to come out and watch our future College Players of the Year, Women's United Soccer Association players, and Women's National Team stars."
