adidas/US Youth Soccer host second
annual National Olympic Development Program Championships over the weekend
in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Matches kicked off on Friday at the Bettye Wilson Sports Complex in Las
Vegas,
California U-16 3 New Jersey U-16 2
On Friday the two best Under-16 girls teams from California and New Jersey
met. California relentless attack with 15 shots on goal resulted in a
3-2 victory.

Michigan jumped to a quick lead in the 8th minute with a goal by Lindsay
Gusick of Livonia, Michigan. Tiffany Weimer of New Haven, Connecticut
scored the only goal for her team in the 61st minute. Michigan took the
game with a final score of 6-1. f

California South 1 Illinois 0
Shannon Foley, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA took the ball to the goal three
times attempting what seemed the impossible against Illinois Keeper Julie
Ryder, Dekalb, IL. In the 95th minute, Amy Burlingham, Costa Mesa, CA
scored after a series of passes, winning the game 1-0.
U-16 Consolation

New Jersey 2 Florida 0
New Jersey won the
match 2-0 with scores in the 53rd minute by Tierney Brady, Brick, NJ,
and again in the 80th minute by Elizabeth Reed, Franklin Lakes, NJ

California South
1 Michigan 2
California came into the match en force and got on the board in the 32nd
minute with a score by Kristen Moore, Mission Viejo, CA. Michigan's Lindsay
Gusick, Livonia, MI scored the first goal for her team in the 43rd minute.
In the 81st minute, Michigan's Lindsay Tarpley, Kalamazoo, passed to teammate
Adrienne Treado, Troy, who had a clear shot on net. The California Keeper
dove, but came up short. Michigan won the game 2-1

U-18 Consolation
North Carolina and
Connecticut played
a skillful, thrilling game and both teams played with outstanding defenses.
Connecticut found the net first with a goal in the 32nd minute by Marie
Strelka, Trumbull, CT. North Carolina answered in the 85th minute with
a brilliant shot past the Keeper's reach. The match went into overtime
and was finally won by North Carolina on penalty kicks.
