Brazil Under-19 Nationals overwhelm local women's team

After the 9 - 0
routing of the Campo Grande women's team last Sunday 21 October, the Brazilian
Under-19 women's team continues their third stage of training this Thursday
in a friendly match at Granja Comari against an Under 15 boys team from
Teresopolis.
Coach Paulo Goncalves is more than satisfied with the performance of his
players to date, and believes that the training games against male teams
are a good test for his girls: "Playing against men's teams is excellent
training to improve on physical strength and conditioning, as well as
developing pace. The games are harder, similar to the level that they
will face in international events next year".
Goncalves named the following players for Thursday's game: Gisele, Janaina, Renata, Angelica, Lidiane, Daniela, Renata Costa, Francieli, Kelly, Glaucia, Cristhiane.
Together since the 15th October, the girls will be training in Teresopolis until 1 November in this third stage of preparation for the South American championship in Argentina between 5 and 16 April 2002 - and the World championship in Canada between 17 August and 4 September 2002. The last friendly game will be played on 28 October against Madureira's number one women's team.
