Some US Youth Soccer adidas Cup off field highlights

A highlight of the event was last Wednesday evening when the girls met for dinner and a "swap meet". Each player brought a special item to trade with a member from another team. Clad in sombreros and toting maracas to keep in step with a Mexican theme buffet, the girls sprawled out on the banquet floor and bartered for the best mementos and keepsakes from their foreign friends. Later they were treated to a professional Latin dance review and the evening was capped off by several impressive attacks on soccer ball piñatas.

The proud title sponsor of the event, adidas America, once again honored the top players of the event with the adidas Golden Boot and Golden Glove awards. Golden Glove winner Ashlyn Harris from the National team didn't allow a goal throughout the tournament. "These girls were flying at me.
Everything was top quality play" said Harris. "I just did my job along with our defenders and forwards, and we finally pulled through."
