Pre-Season Tournament with an undefeated 1-0-2 record
U.S. Under-21 National
Team finished the WUSA Pre-Season Tournament undefeated, including a win
against the San
Diego Spirit in the tournament's final match at the ARCO Olympic Training
Center in Chula Vista, California.
U.S. goalkeepers Jen Branam and Liz Wagner combined to make nine saves
in the shutout against Spirit. Anne Morrell provided the game's only goal
in the 48th minute, with an assist by Aly Wagner. The U.S. opened with
a 3-3 tie against Philadelphia Charge, and followed with another 3-3 against
Washington Freedom.
