Ellis steps down as Head Coach of U.S. Under-21 National Team

UCLA Head Coach Jillian Ellis has decided to step down from her position as Head Coach of the Under-21 U.S. National Team.

Ellis is in her third year with the National Team and second year as UCLA Head Coach. She decided to step down because her priorities have changed because of her mother's battle with cancer. She will remain on staff with the U.S. team until a replacement has been hired.

"For personal reasons, the foremost being my mom's battle with cancer, I am at a point where I need to prioritize my time," said Ellis. "Working with the Under-21 National Team has been nothing less than amazing, and for that opportunity I am eternally grateful."

Last year, Ellis guided the U.S. Under-21s to the 2000 Nordic Cup title inWeismain, Germany.
