Results of third day of US Youth Soccer's adidas Cup

USYSA Blue 3 Japan Youth All-Star 2
Starting the action was Japan's AlUko Niwata who played the ball through to teammate Aya Miyama who went one on one with the goal keeper shooting the ball to the far post and in the net. USYSA's Tahne Tomahssian Fairfax, Virginia, scored first for her team in the 30th minute taking a through ball and slotting it near post. In the 46th minute Japan's Yukari Kinga made a run into space and although the crossed ball was a little bit behind her managed to get her head on the ball sending a high spinning shot befuddlling the keeper. Julie Napolatino of Ellicott, Maryland land scored in the 50th minute when her well taken left footed half volley found the opposite side netting. Just two minutes later, teammate Kelly Wilson of Odessa, Texas in a fierce display of pure athleticism, speed and clinical finishing, scored the winning goal of the first exciting game.

First to strike were the Americans in the 21st minute with a headed goal by Jamie Fabrizio from Carmel, Indiana's assisted by teammate Lindsay Tarpley from Kalamazoo, Missouri. Play was temporarily suspended due to lightening in the first half but play resumed after a 20 minute delay. The tying score was a shot by China's Bi Yan assisted by Han Duan in the 32nd minute. Bi ran onto a ball played played through by Han to the right side of the goal.
USYSA White 4 Australia 1
USYSA jumped to a quick lead in the 3rd minute with a goal by lna Kain (Irvine, California) whose shot from just inside the 18 yard line squirted undemeath the keeper. Eleven minutes later USYSA player Ayodala Adigun, Friendswood, Texas, powered the ball into the back of the net from close range. Six minutes into the second half, Kim Franeis from Richboro, PA. Took a swooping shot from 10 yards which snuck in between the keeper's outstretched hands and the crossbar. Less than a minute later Kate Seibert , Downungtown, PA was taken down in the penalty area. She converted the penalty kick by placing it in the lower right hand corner. The lasl goal was scored by Australia's Jessica Mitchell in the 74th minute off an indirect kick. Mitchell blasted a shot that caromed off a defender and found the near corner.
