State Soccer Team places three players on WSU First Team All-Academic
Squad Beth Childs (Snoqualmie,
Wash.), Lindsey Jorgensen (North Bend, Wash.) and Niki Ironside (Kent,
Wash.) were all named to the Pac-10 All-Academic Lindsey Jorgensen, a mathematics major holds a 4.00 GPA, and was a third team Academic All-American last season, earned her second first team honors. Jorgensen, a junior goalkeeper, played in 18 games this season, missing only two due to a concussion. She posted her best goals against average with a 0.89, giving up only 17 goals this season. Her 111 saves thisseason make her the career leader at WSU with 357. Niki Ironside, has a 4.00 GPA whose major is undeclared. She started all 19 regular season games for the Cougs at defense. A sophomore, this is her first Pac-10 academic honor. Ironside had one assist this season and was a strong force as an outside defender for the 13-7 Cougs this season. Earning second team recognition were Sophomore Brianne Carmody (Yakima, Wash.) has a 3.94 GPA and was a power off the bench for the Cougs this season, playing in 18 games. Sophomore Katrina Stroh (Federal Way, Wash.). Stroh holds a 3.78 GPA. started all 20 games and was the Cougars second leading scorer with five goals and seven assists. Wrapping up WSU's
